David and I were just saying the other day that we couldn't believe we've been living in this home for 9 months and have put anything on our bedroom walls. Every other room in the house, except for the dining room, has something on their walls. We especially love our movie wall and the welcome home sign. Our old bed frame recently broke (I forget I'm an adult and decided to jump on the bed like a kid...no regrets though!) and so we decided just to put our matress on the bedroom floor. I'm kind of digging the way it feels. But, it has made the wall above us look especially empty and sad. So, I decided to do a super quick and cheap DIY to give it some color with some gold polka dots!
what you need:
gold contact paper
scissorstapeobjects varying in shape to trace circles with (I used a popcorn bowl, a cup, a spray can, and a small lid)
First things first, trace all of your circles. Do this on the back of the contact paper where the grid is. Next, cut out all of your shapes. Stick some regular rolled up scotch tape on the back of each circle and place them on the wall where you think you'd like them to go (pictured above). Rearrange them if needed, and then peel off the back piece of paper to stick the contact paper to the wall. I used a ruler to help me smooth the paper out so that there weren't any bubbles. You may also want to wash your wall before hand and let it dry completely, even if you don't think your walls are dirty.
See? I told you that was easy! We still have some decorating to do in our bedroom, but I'm so glad that we have something up above our bed. It looks so pretty! What colors or shapes would you use for this project?
xoxo
